Teacher: Why are you late?
Student: There was a man who lost a hundred dollar bill.
Teacher: That’s nice. Were you helping him look for it?
Student: No. I was standing on it.
There are times in our life that we would find pleasure in hiding the truth. And we would sometimes insist that we are standing on the truth, even if deep inside us, we know we are wrong. It is pride that motivates us to do this. But Jesus always reminds us that he is the only truth, and the only way to attain to that truth. When we live in the truth that God in Jesus has come to save us, to walk with us, to lead us back to the Father we are letting ourselves be open to the truth that God loves us and cares for us, gives us every good thing. This Christmas we have to remember that God in becoming human like us does not make prank or joke for us, but that he is serious about it, even to the point of dying on the cross for us. So let’s celebrate this with love, joy, hope, and care for each other. Merry Christmas.
